Dorset Estate

This is one of my favourite estates. The outside of the buildings look great, but just wait until you go inside These council blocks have spiral staircases.

The design is very interesting and fascinating. The view looking down the stairs is amazing.

The Tower Block, Sivill House, also has a spiral eventhough it is a 20 floor tower block.

Pepys Estate

Bence House, Clement House, Pendennis House, Argosy House, Lanyard House, Bembridge House, Harmon House and Pelican House.

This estate has very unusal buildings. The plant room is very tall and has 4 floors which looks very large on these mid sized buildings.

Pepys Estate towers

Eddystone Tower and Daubeney Tower have the most creepy plant room out of all the tower blocks in London. A roof was added on the top of the tower making a very weird service area and there are cameras everywhere and there is an alarm system.

Oxenholme, Dalehead and Gillfoot towers have been cladded in color coded cladding.

Lansbury estate

Norwich House, Osterley House, Maidstone House, Salisbury House, Talbot House, Essex House, Colebrook House and Busbridge House.

These towers are interesting as they have just 10 main floors, but have a whole 2 floors of plant room which is unusal. Colebrook House and Busbridge House are a bit different though.

Robin Hood Gardens

This is an epic streets in the sky estate. The architects were Peter and Alison Smithson. Sadly one of the two parts has been demolished.

Goldington Street Estate

The Chenies and Cecil Rhodes House are some very unusal 1930s blocks. Sadly the lifts have been fully replaced with some very uninspiring generics. There is a weird spiral staircase which goes from the roof to the back doors of the flats, but it does not go down to the ground floor. Cecil Rhodes House also has spirals between the different roof levels.

Kensal New Town Estate, Trellick And Edenham Estate

While overlooked by the mighty Trellick Tower, the buildings around it are also very interesting. The Trellick And Edenham Estate has an unusual block that has a small 2 floor plant room area. The Kensal New Town Estate has two towers that have a large plant room with lots of rooms coming off it, residents would have used to be allowed in this area (although not the rooms), but now it is a creepy area at the top of the towers.

Thornfield House

Thornfield House is a very unusaul and interesting Maisonette block on the Birchfield Estate at Westferry, Tower Hamlets.

Notice that the bottom floors only have walkways on the lower levels of the maisonettes, but the upper fllors have an additional walkway for the upper maisonette levels. This extra walkway is not accessible to the public.

The plant room area is interesting and creepy.
