Aldous & Campbell Lift Company
Aldous & Campbell were a great lift company that made lifts from the 1900s to 1967. They made a lot of the lifts at railway stations in the south east, but all of these lifts have now been replaced or abandoned. It is now very rare to find an Aldous & Campbell lift. Aldous & Campbell merged with the General Hydraulic Power Company in 1961. and were taken over by Hammond & Champness in 1967.
Bromley station (lifts are abandoned)
Vauxhall station (lift is abandoned)
Letchworth station (lifts are abandoned)
The lifts at Rochester, Ramsgate, Margate and Hastings stations have now been replaced with crappy stannahs.
In 1961 Aldous & Campbell merged with the General Hydraulic Power Company to form Aldous Campbell Hypower
